The alternative for those in leadership is to use their influence to create circumstances where people can better themselves through smart economic policy and changes like immigration reform. We can encourage companies to create better jobs and higher wages so that instead of getting a handout, employees are pulling themselves up through hard work. This is what the Trump administration has done by putting the lowest wage earners in America back to work.

Our number-one priority should be employing Americans— now more than ever! We’ve never seen a pandemic like COVID-19 in world history, and while we’ve always been for America first, now is the time to step up and help the American taxpayer. We need to take care of our own people first—after all, it’s their money!—so that our country can be stable enough to help others.

Has there ever been a successful civilization that put another one first at their own expense? Of course not. You put your own people first. It’s asinine not to. Putting others first is a big part of the leftist globalist platform. It simply doesn’t make sense.

Think about the last time you flew. I know, it’s been a while because of COVID-19, but you can remember. They give you that little speech about what to do if the cabin depressurizes—that you’re supposed to put your mask on first. Isn’t that unkind to your children? Shouldn’t you take care of the disadvantaged first? No, if you don’t get your mask on, you’ll pass out before you can be of assistance to others.

Before we can help anyone else, we’ve got to take care of ourselves. We’ve got to get Americans back to work first. We need to get Americans the health care they need first. We need to get our children the education they deserve and will need to succeed first. Before we spend money on anything else for illegal immigrants or any of the ridiculous pork that Nancy Pelosi and the rest put into the stimulus bills, we need to take care of essentials so our country is healthy enough to survive and then to thrive. Then we can turn to those around us who need us.

To do this, we need stronger border security. We need to end chain migration, and we need to cancel the visa lottery.14

At a recent speech on Mount Rushmore, my father said, “We recognize the solemn right and moral duty of every nation to secure its borders. And we are building the wall. We remember that governments exist to protect the safety and happiness of their own people. A nation must care for its own citizens first. We must take care of America first. It’s time.”15

For years, Mexico looked at the immigration issue as a net positive for themselves—many of the people crossing the border illegally are their least educated and most impoverished.
